Quality Standards
All accommodation establishments participating in our membership package must hold, or have applied for, an accreditation with Quality in Tourism or the AA under the appropriate scheme.
Properties that wish to be featured in the West Dorset Holiday Guide, on our websites www.westdorset.com and www.visit-dorset.com, or through the Tourist Information Centres must, at the very minimum, meet the standards set by the Dorset Approved Visitor Accommodation Scheme. This scheme ensures that all legal requirements regarding health and safety are met and that good customer practices are being implemented.
Many of the properties who list with us also choose to undertake a more complete assessment by either VisitEngland or the AA. As well as the elements of the Dorset Approved Visitor Accommodation Scheme, the quality of the guest experience is assessed. Trained, impartial assessors visit each property annually, grading the establishment from one to five stars or pennants.
