Destination Dorset

Destination Dorset is a new tourism partnership uniting public, private and voluntary sectors. Its aim is to ensure the tourism industry remains one of the most important industries in the county and is able to meet the changing demands of the visitor.

A Business Plan has been written and working groups have been established covering topics such as marketing and branding, quality, sustainability, research and intelligence and a website development group lead by West Dorset District Council working on the Dorset website www.visit-dorset.com.

The marketing group conducted a high profile brand awareness campaign in the Autumn Mail On Sunday's You Magazine in 2008 and is currently looking into campaigns to boost visits to the visit-dorset.com website.

West Dorset District Council's tourism team launched visit-dorset.com in April 2009 on behalf of the Destination Dorset partnership. This is a brand new website promoting all that Dorset has to offer and as a member of West Dorset's promotional package, your business is automatically featured on this site absolutely free of charge.
