Home / West Dorset Hotels & Accommodation / Wessex Royale Hotel
The Wessex Royale Hotel is a delightful Georgian hotel built in 1756 to a similar design as John Wood's Royal Crescent in Bath, which was built in the same year.
As you would expect, this classical Georgian building has a grand staircase, panelling and fireplaces in abundance. Over the last 10 years the hotel has been substantially and sympathetically refurbished and upgraded. All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms with bath and power shower, remote control TV, with complimentary Sky Sports 1, 2 and 3, direct-dial telephone, hairdryers and hospitality trays.
The hotel has a superb lounge with an open fire, where guests can relax with a drink from the bar and listen to the piano. Our a la carte, award-winning restaurant is open from 1830 each evening.
