Road Directions

If you are coming from London you can normally drive in about two and a half hours maximum via the M3, A303 to Wincanton without turn offs then follow the signs to Sherborne. From all other parts of Britain you can follow the M4/M5 to Bridgewater or Taunton exits.
For overseas visitors it is approximately a two-hour drive to Sherborne with a rental car.

Directions to Teachers Cottage once you are in Sherborne:
As you come into Sherborne, from Wincanton, you reach a set of traffic lights at a T junction. Turn right on to the A30 and then go to the next set of traffic lights. Turn left immediately after these traffic lights up a short hill that joins Acreman Street at the top. Turn left on to Acreman Street and follow the road down (passed the narrow sections) until just before the cross roads. Teachers Cottage is on the left.

As you enter Sherborne from Yeovil go straight ahead through the first set of traffic lights after the dual carriageway. Keep going passed the garage on your right until just before the road starts to dip towards a second set of traffic lights. Turn right at this point on to Acreman Street and follow the instructions above

If you are coming into Sherborne from the South on the A352 once you have gone over the railway bridge DO NOT follow the A352 when it turns left at the next turning but carry on into Westbury Road and then Acreman Street. Go straight over at the crossroads. Teachers Cottage is just passed the crossroads on the right hand side

Directions to Printers Court Cheap Street:
As you come into Sherborne, from Wincanton, you reach a set of traffic lights. Turn right on to the A30 and second left to Higher Cheap Street. Go straight over into Cheap Street itself (one way) and go ¾ of the way down the hill. The entrance to Printers Court is just beside the Abbey Bookshop on your right.

If you are coming from the North or West then you will probably arrive via the A30. Please follow the instructions above or give us a call if you need help.

If you are coming from the South then you will probably come into Sherborne on the A352.
Stay on the A352 (turning left at the junction where the A352 goes left just after you have come into Sherborne) till you meet the A30 at a set of traffic lights/T-junction. Turn right and stay on the A30 through the next set of traffic lights. As you reach the top of the hill turn right, before you get to another set of traffic lights, into The Green/Cheap Street and follow the instructions above.)

Public Transport Directions

All of our properties are located within a 5 minute walk from Sherborne train station which has direct links to London Waterloo. There is an hourly train service from London Waterloo to Sherborne throughout most of the day. For overseas visitors there is a direct bus railway transfer for London Heathrow to Woking Station and then direct train to Sherborne or it is approximately a two-hour drive to Sherborne with a rental car. There are also frequent buses running from Sherborne with links across the South West.
