Still Life, Landscape and More

This exhibition comprises of work by Baffy, Maddy and Patricia, who work together at the Clare Trenchard Studio in Lower Abbots, Wootton, where they refine ideas for paintings through drawing, experimenting and studying artists such as: John Piper, William Nicholson, Rothko, Elizabeth Frink, Turner, Ken Draper and Fred Cuming for their technique and inspiration. Diverse in subjects and media they share a common ambition to produce a personal view of life as seen through familiar things, land and seascapes. They benefit from sharing ideas and criticism for their individual work.

Matter Arising: exhibition by Frances Hatch

Matter arising from encounters with slumped cliffs, saddleback hills, shifting light, mountain-shine: from the Channel coast to the Scottish Highlands in an array of weathers. Water-based mixed media paintings by Frances Hatch.

In conjunction with the exhibition Frances has also arranged two related, one off events: Frozen Orchestras Live* 2nd April at Whitchurch Canonicorum Church (performance and participatory workshops inspired by the location) with Frozen Orchestras of Lost Sound * comprising Cathy Stevens, Udo Dzierzanowski and Frances Hatch.

Votives to St Wite on 9th April at Whitchurch Canonicorum Church. Painting, drawing and writing at a workshop with poet Elisabeth Bletsoe* and Frances Hatch.
*Elisabeth Bletsoe has just had published Votives to St Wite in Towards Re- Enchantment: Place and It’s Meanings. This will be a unique opportunity to hear Elisabeth in the location which inspired the poem.
