Sublime Folk at The Marine Theatre

Celebrate Saint Patrick's Day in style with ‘Sublime Folk’, featuring Maurice Dickson, Catherine Ashcroft and local Lyme legend Stompin’ Dave Allen.

Maurice Dickson has been a professional musician for over thirty years. Hailing from Northern Ireland, Maurice has toured across the UK, Ireland, Europe and America. He has performed at many of the major folk festivals including Edinburgh, Shetland, Belfast, Limerick, Aaron, and Cork.

Maurice performs his own beautifully crafted original songs in tandem with traditional Irish instrumental music, showcasing the wonderful uilleann pipes of Catherine Ashcroft from Cumbria. A jaw dropping talent, Catherine is a former junior All Britain champion on pipes and tin whistle.

‘Sublime Folk’ also features local hero Stompin' Dave Allen. Winner of the FOAOTMAD old-time banjo contest 2011. Dave’s performance at The Marine Theatre in the summer gained him a rave review from the Daily Telegraph "a master...a formidable musician and a true original."
