Home > What's On in West Dorset > RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day 2008
International airshow showcasing UK and foreign military aircraft and aerobatic display teams.
The theme this year is ‘Maritime Air’. The roles of the Royal Navy in the 21st century include protection of sea lanes, intelligence gathering, counter narcotics, delivering humanitarian aid, peacekeeping and, ultimately, war-fighting. Yeovilton based Commando Sea King and Lynx helicopters and Maritime Lynx Squadrons will feature in the extensive flying and static display along with visiting military and civilian aircraft, historic and modern from around the world.
There'll be plenty of entertainment on the ground too for all the family, with arena displays, side shows, vintage and military vehicles, service demonstrations, picnic areas, helicopter pleasure flights, simulator rides, trade stands and much more!
Gates open 0900 - Airfield closes 1700.
Tickets available online and from Tourist Information Centres (Sherborne 01935 815341, Bridport 01308 424901, Dorchester 01305 267992).
