A monument erected in c1844, in memory of Vice-Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy, flag captain of HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. It has been restored recently by the National Trust. Tremendous views across Dorset countryside. The car park is not National Trust. Closed in bad weather.

Nearest major road is B3157. From Weymouth to Bridport Road B3157, turn off at Portesham. Road climbs steeply to a car park signposted Hardy Monument. Car park not owned by National Trust, therefore there may be a charge.
