A well preserved coastal fort built by Henry VIII to defend Weymouth Harbour against possible French and Spanish attack. Seized by both Parliamentarians and royalists during the Civil War. The castle also played its part during the first and second world wars. Exhibition: 400 hundred years of the castle's history.
