Victorian house designed by Thomas Hardy and his home from 1885 until his death in 1928. Contains several pieces of Hardy's furniture. Only the dining room, drawing-room and garden are open to the public. Here he wrote Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Jude the Obscure and The Mayor of Casterbridge.
