Home > The Keep Military Museum of Devon & Dorset
The Keep Military Museum is housed in an imposing Grade 2 listed building at top o'town in the centre of Dorchester. The museum tells the stories of regiments and yeomanry of Devonshire and Dorset, from the early days of the 11th, 39th and 54th of Foot to the modern army of today. The display covers four floors and exhibits include Hitler's Desk, weapons, silver and personal items.
New for 2011 are a stunning new medal display and a focus on the modern army. Throughout the museum dvds, computer presentations and hands-on exhibits add variety to the static displays. An added bonus is the spectacular roof top views of Dorchester and the surrounding countryside, brought to life in the novel of Thomas Hardy.
