West Dorset is renowned for its local produce, and there is no better way to discover it than at an event dedicated to the delectable delights of the region.
Join Mark Hix in the kitchen at Hix Oyster and Fish House in Lyme Regis. Every month Mark will host an open cooking class where he will demonstrate his wonderful skills in the kitchen and cook four dishes as part of a four course lunch with wines to match each course. Classes accommodate up to 8 people, so take some friends and family along and enjoy a great day out. Bookings must be made in advance.

Adventures in Food at Summer Lodge
Rediscover the ancient art of foraging, where you poke around in rock pools, hedgerows and ancient woodlands for morsels of free food, with acknowledged expert John Wright - star of TV show ‘River Cottage’ and author of several popular foraging handbooks.

Spring Tide Festival
This spectacular West Dorset outdoor food event at Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock offers you the chance to meet and buy from West Dorset‘s hugely talented local producers who will once be on hand to show off Dorset produce at its very best. 18th & 19th May!
Dorset Knob Throwing and Frome Valley Food Festival Come along to this quirky event and see how far you can throw a Dorset Knob Biscuit! Recently nominated as a finalist in the Where Else But England Awards, the event runs alongside the Frome Valley Food Festival where there will be the opportunity to sample, taste and purchase a fine range of foods supplied by well respected local businesses. Sunday 5th May, 2013.
The ever-popular Bridport Food Festival will return from 9th - 16th June 2013 with a packed programme of foodie fun.
Celebrate Dorset's country cider making heritage and sample beverages from over 20 cider producers. Local food suppliers will also be there to help you soak up all that apple juice! April 27th 2013.
Workshops & Demonstrations
TV chef Lesley Waters runs very popular masterclasses and demonstrations at her Cookery School at Abbots Hill. At the end of each course, all are invited to sit down to a meal together and discover that the proof of the pudding truly is in the eating.
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage HQ offers a series of courses, ranging from catching and cooking your meal, to tips on using home-grown fruit and vegetables in delicious seasonal recipes.
