Home > Gryphon Leisure Centre
This busy leisure centre is the largest of its kind in the area. The centre has a main sports hall, two competition standard squash courts, an aerobics/dance studio and a fully air conditioned fitness suite. Outdoor facilities include six tennis courts or five netball courts, plus a new floodlit astroturf pitch.
The centre also offers a range of adult and children's clubs and courses, including exercise to music classes. Many of the activities are pay as you play, although some are course-based and have to be booked and paid for in advance.
The Gryphon Leisure Centre is used for just about everything from badminton, five-a-side football, gymnastics and short mat bowls competitions to hosting children's birthday parties.
The leisure centre is a dual-use facility alongside the Gryphon School, whose pupils use the centre throughout the day. The centre is open to the general public all day at the weekends and during the school holidays.Winner of Quest Award (UK Quality Scheme For Sport & Leisure) 2005.
