Destination Dorset

The new public-private sector partnership focussing on tourism in rural Dorset - called Destination Dorset - is now begining to take shape. Those of you who are members of South West Tourism will notice that this new partnership is being linked in with your membership package.

Many of you will have heard chairman, Jeremy Pope, present on the work of Destination Dorset at the West Dorset tourism forum.

New working groups have been established covering topics such as marketing, research and sustainability. The marketing group is looking into a new pass scheme to encourage visits to attractions, a new brand for Dorset and a website for Dorset, developed from the current www.westdorset.com website.

Destination Dorset will play an important role in the 2012 Games and subsequent legacy opportunities.
