Norburton Hall
All of our self-catering cottages and apartments are situated within the historic environs of Norburton Hall and are close to the main house with notable Arts and Crafts Style features from 1902. Historic features, some dating back to the 17th century, have been preserved and are combined with modern comforts so that you feel totally at home from the moment you arrive. With 6 acres of peaceful grounds Norburton Hall is the perfect place to relax. Two of our cottages are pet friendly and are ideal for dog owners whilst the others are totally pet-free. If all cottages are booked together there is accommodation for up to 18 people.
The cottage names all reflect how the buildings served Norburton Hall. The Gardener’s Cottage sleeps 8 people in a rustic setting incorporating original floorboards, windows and a lofty beamed ceiling. A log effect gas stove offers both cosiness and convenience. It is ideal for large family groups, a friends’ gathering or for walkers and golfers. The Shippen for up to 4 people is our flagship 5 star cottage and has the highest specifications. All of the rooms have underfloor heating, are on one level and contain exposed beams. The Stables and the Hayloft are one bedroom apartments with king size beds. The Hayloft has exposed beams and wonderful views across the grounds to the Dorset hills and the Stables has lantern recesses, hooks for hay and harnesses and underfloor heating. The Dairy Cottage has a single bed and a double bed in the bedroom and is one of the wings of the main building. Whichever cottage you choose enjoy a glass of wine under a canopy of trees, select a sunny spot and stoke up one of the barbeques or wait until dark and watch shooting stars or see the Milky Way.
The accommodation is ideally placed for walks to along the coast or through the countryside. The local bus which takes you along the coast in a double decker has been described as one of the most spectacular bus journeys in the UK and the area is a foodie’s paradise with wonderful restaurants including River Cottage, Hix, The Wild Garlic, The Riverside Restaurant and the Hive Beach Café amongst others all within a 20 minute journey of here.

Road Directions
From the A35 take the turning to Shipton Gorge and Burton Bradstock. Entrance to the Hall is on the left just after the Burton Bradstock village sign. From the Crown roundabout, take the B3157 into Burton Bradstock. Turn left at the 'Anchor Inn' into Shadrach which goes into Shipton Lane. Pass Annings Lane on the right, then the driveway is first on the right.
